Our vision for learning is based on a deep understanding of human learning, memory, motivation, and cognition combined with a commitment to the improvement of education at all levels – K-12, undergraduate and graduate education, and corporate and government training

Some of the principles that guide our vision for learning:

• People learn best by doing.
• Learning is best done in authentic contexts that closely resemble the real world application of the knowledge and skills to be learned.
• Learning is motivated by achievement of meaningful goals.
• Technology is a wonderful tool for enhancing learning, but is a means, not an end in itself. Often technology does more harm than good in creating meaningful learning.

We continually strive to build awareness of the limitations inherent in many current educational practices and to design, develop, and deliver effective, compelling, research-based learning environments that overcome these limitations. We advocate creating student-centered learning environments that—by aligning with research on human memory, learning, and motivation—create more effective and efficient learning experiences for learners of all ages.
